Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel & Conference Center Goes Green

For some time the Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel & Conference Center has been aware of the environment, and that shows in our daily operations. Several initiatives and actions have been taken by Hotel Pulitzer to reduce the waste of products, reducing of the water consumption and minimizing CO2 emissions.

We have successfully obtained the Golden Green Key Certificate, as a result of environmental responsibility within the Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel. The Green Key is an international standard for businesses in the tourism and leisure industry that are serious and controllable working on the environment within the company. The Green Key Gold Certificate is the highest result that can be reached.

Several initiatives within the Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel and Conference that have been implemented include:

Good Housekeeping

• The linen does not necessarily have to be washed every day. The guest is given the choice to do this or not.
• The guest's laundry is being delivered to the rooms in wicker baskets, which saves a lot of plastic every day.

Decrease of internal paper use

• The paper that is used at the Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel & Conference Centre is printed two-sided.
• All faxes that come in are not directly printed, but stored on the computer.
• Brochures and leaflets are printed on paper with an international eco-label.

Separation of Waste

• All waste within the Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel & Conference Center will be kept separately and returned separately.

Environmentally conscious products

• Within the Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel & Conference Center, various organic products are used and purchased from suppliers that are doing business in an environmentally responsible way.
